A Day In My Life

This is how my day looked like on 10th of July 2024.

I woke up grumpy and cranky for no apparent reason

It must have had something to do with the digestive problems from yesterday.

I have to be careful what I eat because life without a gallbladder is a bit different.

As I was going through my morning ritual, I noticed I wasn’t in the mood for anything.

I watched a bit of Game of Thrones and got ready to go out into the hot summer heat.

I walked behind the blocks trying to find quiet areas.

I don’t enjoy the noise of the city that much.

It feels like there’s a constant rush hour everywhere.

I arrived at the exchange office, exchanged 20 euros and went to find a cab.

I hopped on a cab and went to the main coffee shop.

At The Cozy Coffee Shop (Moki)

The coffee is good here. The place is a small, cozy coffee shop.

The barista here makes good coffee, but I avoid talking to him because he complains a lot.

I listened to him complaining for a few times in a row.

I even tried to give him some advice, but to no avail.

I figured out he doesn’t want to change, only to dump his frustrations on anyone listening to him.

After I heard the same stories over and over again, I stopped being so friendly towards him.

I left the place at closing time (15:00)

Onto the next coffee shop! (Mazo)

There’s another coffee place 10 minutes’ walk from the first one – Mazo.

I used to be a regular here up until two-three years ago, up until the end of the pandemic.

But then I moved in with girlfriend (Madam Dragon) and everything changed.

Now it takes too much time to get to this coffee shop.

While I was drinking my single shot espresso, I recognized a familiar place.

It was the guy who used to work here as a barista.

But it turn out he now manages the place.

He’s fun. He makes people feel at home in there.

He’s kind and welcoming.

I was very happy to see him again, he was always kind to me.

The music was at a decent volume.

I felt inspired and wrote articles for this site.

I optimized image sizes for my blog posts.

And the coffee was good, as well.

It’s good to be treated with dignity.

Walking by the side of the river

I used to do this so many times when I used to lived there in the area.

The sound of water flowing calms me down and makes me forget the anxiety I get near traffic.

Looking in the distance, I remembered the old apartment is still there.

One of these days I’m going to summon the courage to sell it and perhaps buy an office space.

That’s what I miss most these days – having my own office space.

Coffee shops are not bad, but when they’re crowded, it’s hard to focus.

Past the old cinema

The old cinema is nearby.

My father used to take me to the movies, as a kid.

Now the old cinema is deserted and in a very bad shape.

I looked inside, through the locked up doors, trying to remember how it looked like in my childhood.

But it’s in such a precarious state! I could barely believe it.

Getting A Bolt

I kept walking, as I was preparing to get a Bolt (alternative to Uber). I was going back, home to Madam Dragon (aka girlfriend).

She wrote she was feeling a bit anxious for not knowing if I was OK.

So I took the car back to her place.

I arrived. She had a new haircut.

I knew I had to tell her something nice about the hair because that’s how things work in a 8+ years relationship.

Her hair actually looked really well so there was no reason to pretend. I actually liked her new hair color.

And I told her, multiple times.

I ate fried fish soon after.

We talked. We looked over 50 Ideas For Blog Posts and discussed which one of them we find interesting.

45 minutes later, I went back and ate some more fish and watched a bit of Game Of Thrones.

I decided to re-watch the whole show to refresh my memory of it.

It’s still good. Except the last 3 episodes of season 8, of course.

And now I’m writing this article on my laptop, connected to the TV.

Standing.

Time to publish!
